Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you located?
Blue Willow Stitchery is located in Santa Barbara near the Turnpike exit off the 101, just minutes from both downtown Santa Barbara and downtown Goleta.
Do you have animals in your home?
Yes. We live on a small farm property and do have animals on-site. Our large dogs and cats are outdoor animals, while our three dachshunds are indoor/outdoor pets. I do my best to keep them out of the sewing studio, but those with allergies should be aware that animals are present on the property.
What is your quilting background?
I began longarm quilting on my Handi Quilter Amara focusing on free-motion quilting before expanding into edge-to-edge pantographs. I’ve taken classes from Kristina Whitley, David Taylor, Tenille Campbell, Julia Quiltoff, and other instructors through workshops at Road to California in Ontario. While quilting is always a learning journey, I feel confident providing both free-motion and edge-to-edge quilting services for my customers.
Do you offer rush quilting services?
Rush quilting may be available depending on my schedule and current workload. I’m always happy to discuss your timeline, but rush availability cannot be guaranteed.
Do you accept shipped quilts?
Absolutely! I work with quilters both locally and from a distance.
To help your quilting experience go smoothly, please watch my recommended quilt preparation video and review the Quilt Preparation Guide before sending your quilt. Taking a few minutes to prepare your quilt properly helps prevent delays and ensures the best quilting results.
When you’re ready, package your quilt top, backing, and batting (unless you are buying batting from me) securely and send them to me using the shipping instructions provided. I’ll confirm when your quilt arrives and keep you updated throughout the process.
Do you offer pickup or delivery?
Yes. Local quilt pickup is available for a $25 fee, and local quilt delivery is also available for a $25 fee.
How do we choose an edge-to-edge quilting design?
We’ll go through design options together during your consultation. I have a growing collection of pantographs and thread choices available to help select the best finish for your quilt. If I come to your home for quilt pickup, I can also bring my laptop, thread samples, and pattern options with me.
