Rachel DuPar
Growing up in a family where sewing was passed down through generations, I learned a love for creating with fabric from my mother and was inspired to explore quilting by my grandma. Some of my favorite memories are sharing tea with her from her cherished Blue Willow china teapot while admiring her quilting — moments that later inspired the name Blue Willow Stitchery. At five years old, I received my first sewing machine from my mother, a vintage Singer, and I’ve been making and creating ever since.
About 20 years ago, I ventured into the world of quilting. In 2023, I purchased my longarm machine and began my journey into free-motion quilting. Since then, I’ve expanded my studio with a Pro-Stitcher system, allowing me to continue growing creatively while offering personalized quilting services from my home studio.
Teaching and sharing the art of sewing has also become an important part of my journey. Since 2019, I’ve had the joy of teaching my own daughters to sew, along with offering after-school sewing classes for young students, summer sewing camps, and workshops for adults. Helping others discover the creativity, confidence, and joy that sewing brings has been incredibly meaningful to me.
I especially enjoy free-motion custom quilting, with a special love for landscape and artistic projects. I also offer edge-to-edge quilting services for customers looking for beautiful, professional finishes that complement their quilts while keeping the process simple and approachable. I welcome custom work and truly enjoy collaborating with fellow makers to help bring their visions to life. Seeing the delight a finished quilt brings is equally rewarding and fulfilling.
